Douglas State Trail
This is a 13-mile blacktop trail between Rochester & Pine Island. The trail passes through a scenic mix of forest and the rolling fields and pastures of some of the richest agricultural land in Minnesota. Partridge & pheasant live in the woods, and toward Rochester, geese become more abundant. Little-used county roads offer opportunity to plan a circular route. Honors Choir of Southeast Minnesota
This is a non-profit organization of five youth choirs now in its eleventh season. The singers are in grades 3 - 12 and come from all over the region to audition and are chosen for their talent and commitment to choral music. Take one of the free 1-½ hour tours of this internationally known medical diagnostic clinic. Clinic tours are Monday Friday at 9:40am. Artwork tours, featuring unique art throughout the clinic, are held Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 1:30pm. All tours are free and start in the Judd Auditorium. Plummer House
This is the former home of Henry S. Plummer, who was a member of the Mayo Clinic Staff in 1901. The house is 5 stories high, and contains 49 rooms. Quarry Hill Nature Center
The Quarry Hill Nature Center can be found nestled within 300-acres of parkland. The Nature Center houses over 100 mounted animals, a 1,700-gallon fish tank, live animals, an indoor beehive, and a bird watching room. Paved trails and natural hiking trails allow for enjoyment of this unique area located close to downtown Rochester. This park features an oak savanna, restored prairie, quarry, man-made sandstone caves and a man-made pond. Cross-country skis or snowshoes are available for rent.
